Michael Flynn was born and raised in Middletown, Rhode Island, where he grew up in a large, Irish-American family. From a young age, Flynn was exposed to political activism through his mother’s involvement in the pro-life movement, participating in marches and rallies as early as 15 years old. His admiration for Ronald Reagan and viewing global and domestic conflicts as a form of spiritual warfare further defined his political stance.
Michael Flynn’s Military Career
He began his career in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in military intelligence. He served in various capacities, including in the 82nd Airborne Division and participating in the invasion of Grenada and operations in South America. Flynn’s tenure was characterized by his aggressive stance on counterterrorism, leading the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and intensifying efforts against Al Qaeda through increased raids that may have resulted in the deaths of many civilians.
